The Heng Yang welfare centre homes 50 orphans with disabilities. They are living in desparate need with inadequate basic care, food, clothing, education and medical care and therapy. This project aims to touch these children and the surrounding community with the love of God through providing services that significantly improve their quality of life and decreases the current high mortality rate of the children that live there.

My family spent a few summers on the lakes in Kashmir when I was 5, 6,7 years old. It is the most beautiful place I have ever been. I went back with a college friend on a backpack trip in 1991 and was saddened by the desolation the war had left in this beautiful region, and the desperation of the people literally fighting for our business.

 According to official figures, 73000 people died in the 7.6 M earthquake of October 8 2005. At least a further 1300 died on the India side of the Kashmir region. A huge national and International aid operation helped avert a second wave of deaths in the winter snows. Now there are still many worries about spring mudslides, crop failures and women returning home unable to walk or work in the fields and facing rejection .

We donate our proceeds to Save the Children.
